Q: where is the cheapest place to buy a complete engine? can be rebuilt. needs to be for a 91 toyota supra turbo.
I have a 91 toyota supra and it came with a blown engine, but hey, a supra’s a supra, especially when its only $500.00. but now I can’t find an engine for it for less than $5000. I have a cavalier I could sell for $6000, but I need to buy the engine and another family oriented car, so i’m looking for an engine in the $2000.00 and lower range. if anyone can provide me with a solid lead to an engine in that price range other than watching the auction sites, I might be inclined to offer a reward.
by the way, the old engine s in a scrap yard right now
A: $500 isn’t bad for a Supra. I’ve personally owned 5 in my life and am looking for number 6 all the time. The MKIII (86.5-92) was notorious for blowing head gaskets. I would check for that first. The best way to check for BHG is a compression gauge. It’s fairly easy. Read up on it at Supraforums.com . Assuming that is what’s wrong with your’s, I would recommend repairing the engine. Last 7M-GTE I rebuilt cost me a little over $300 in parts and about 2 weeks of my spare time. Assuming it’s not…and something like a broken rod or hole in the engine block, then you should be careful buying a used engine. Many of the ones online are JDM pulls, this means they’re high mileage and often abused engines pulled from Japanese cars. Since Japan refuses registration to higher mileage vehicles, they’re parted out. If you end up needing a new engine, I would recommend trying to find one from a salvage yard (they often undercharge for these things, believe it or not I’ve bought an engine for $100 once). Or search for a wrecked donor Supra with a good motor. Either way it’ll be cheaper than $5000, and with another Supra, you’ll have extra parts…and believe me, you’ll need them
Q: I own a 1994 toyota supra i want to know if i should put a huge wing on it (just for looks) what shud i do?
i have a 1994 toyota supra without a wing… it looks nice it has a bomex body kit and a fat exhaust with 17’s but i kinda liek the fat wing look but im not sure if i should risk gettign holes drilled in for it to be put in. do you guys think itd look good or not?
A: Skip the wing and invest the money into mods that actually make the car go faster, turn better, or stop shorter.
Q: Who thinks the Toyota Supra was the best car ever made?
My brother gave me his old 94 supra since he is married and more serious. But its not like a really modified 900 hp monster. And high millage. But Funny, everywere I go people take pictures and ask questions. And its damn fast for a barely modified Supra.
A: lucky!!!!
anyways, its not the best, i think the best comes down to taste.
but man, the MK4 supra is one of the nicest supra’s out there!!! first time i saw a supra, i was so glad, cause i’ve been looking at supra’s all over the internet, but never seen one in my life. i’ve seen lambo’s, ferrari’s, etc, but i wanted to see a supra! then randomly near my house i saw one, it was white, right hand drive…what a magical moment hahaha
Q: what should I look out for when buying a Toyota Supra?
I have up to £2000 – £4000 to spend on a supra what should I look out for, or is their another similar car i should look at.
A: They’re engines suffered from Big end knocks, so test drive, put in second gear at around 35MPH and listen to the overrun, it should be smooth. If you can hear any sort of machine-gunning the engine is on its way out.
I’d suggest you consider a Lexus Soarer, they’re much cheaper as they are all imports, no exceptions, and you can easily pick up a good 2.5 Twin Turbo for £2,500, or a 4.0 V8 for around £2,200. You can get a half decent one for not much more than £1,200. Parts aren’t easy to find, but nor are they on the Supra, but the engines are much more sturdy than the Supras and if your going at less than 50MPH it WILL go round almost any corner you show it (it’d crease the road before it let go).
Q: what is the value of a 1989 toyota supra?

Q: where is the Power steering pump and hoses to it on my 1987 toyota supra 7M-GE?
I have an MK3 Supra and its leaking Power steering fluid but the pump is still making noise…Is it the pump or the hoses and where are they located?
A: Pop the hood, look to the left, look under where the radiator hooks up to & look under the clutch fan, that’s where it is. Hoses are hooked up to the resvoir(2 of them), just trace from there. I’ve found it best to remove the clutch fan, fan shroud, and radiator just to get them out of the way before replacing it.
This also gives you a chance to replace the clutch fan if it’s also pretty worn. You’ll most likely end up draining the radiator a bit, so just refill as you please.
Q: What type of gas does a Toyota Supra take?regular or premium?
What is the recomended fuel for a 93-98 Supra Turbo?
A: Some folks will say it makes no difference and evidence says it doesn’t matter.
But what a load of rubbish that is i have read just as much evidence to say use a higher rated fuel, and myself have driven turbo and modded cars for years and years.
Using a fuel with a higher octane lets an engine run at a higher compression ratio without having problems with knock.
engines that require higher octane usually deliver more power.
So the difference in price us a high rated fuel after all those cars where made and designed forJapan which using 100 rated fuel.
quoted.
Myself notice a big difference is i use a lower rated fuel in a performance engine,my 180sx wouldn’t even move without jumping around if i used a lower rated fuel.
Higher rated fuel is more for modded engines or sports engines.
Q: What are the frontal areas of the Mazda MX-3 and the Toyota Supra?
I am doing a lot of research and number crunching for my ‘93 Mazda MX-3 GS Special Edition and want to do some mathematical comparisons with any turbo Toyota Supra that is early 90’s or newer. I was able to find the aerodynamic drag coefficients without too much trouble, but, I’m having a hard time finding the frontal areas of them. Bassically, I can drop in a fully built KL-ZE 2.5L V6 from Japan and tune/turbo it to 1000hp+ and, given the proper gearing, I want to find the maximum speed possible based of calm conditions and a flat surface. For that, I need the frontal area…
A: Try “downforce”.
Q: Who builds high performance toyota supra automatic transmissions?
1995 toyota supra twin turbo.
A: No one. People who actually know what a Supra is have no interest in automatic transmissions. Only lazy americans who have no will power to learn something and not have a machine do it for them drive automatics. And I’m American, but I drive a stick.
Q: What is better a Toyota Supra or a Ford Mustang Gt the brand new mustang?
Cant decide whether to get a toyota Supra or a Brand new Ford Mustang GT
A: Go with the Mustang.
1.) new
2.) warranty
3.) new
4.) warranty
5.) ITS A MUSTANG!
Q: I have a Toyota Corolla and would like a Toyota Supra engine in it. Can it be done?
It’s a 1996 Toyota Corolla.
A: Possibly, but why bother? Corolla’s are front wheel drive, supra’s are rear. It would require TONS of modifications, not to mention the cost of the motor and trans. And you’d still be driving a corolla. A celica engine would be a better bet, but just buying a celica would be much better.
Q: Why are toyota Supra still expensive these days?
I been searching and looking for a supra and there are really outrages with the prices, true the fact its an cool and fast car but still why so pricey even though the 1993-1995 probably close to hitting the 15 year mark.
A: You already answered part of your question already *it’s a cool and fast car.* The Supra is a highly sought out car because its a good car to mod, relatively easy to work on, and can get crazy hp out of it. It’s been popular since it was originally put out by Toyota and especially with drifting being as popular as it is, it makes the supra even more sought out as a rear wheel drive sports car. Supply and demand. You can keep the prices high on used cars that people want.
Q: where can i purchase a toyota supra trunk decal?
i have a 1985 toyota supra that had some rusting so the previous owner removed he supra decal on the back hatch. does anyone know a site or catalog where i can purchase a new one? p
A: Try a graphics shop that does decals. They can take measurements of the trunk and replicate the original one. Should be cheap because if I recall correctly, the decal is just the outline of the letters. Make sure that they use the outdoor 7 year vinyl (the brands Avery and 3M are good), not the calendered vinyl that will wear out and fade fast.
Or you could always try ebay.
BTW I LOVE that generation of Supra. Sharp car.
