Q: What type of valve needs to be replaced if my 1995 Mustang is over heating?
I was driving my ‘95 mustang the other day and it started to over heat, when i took it to my mechanic he told me that the valvle needs to be replaced. He never told me which one and i was planning on doing some research to find a cheaper one.
A: What the heck would a valve have to do with overheating?
That is usually a thermostat problem, or head gasket or bad radiator.
I have never heard of a bad valve causing that problem.
Q: What are the best things to install on my new 01 mustang?
Its an 01 3.8L V6 mustang. It already has flowmasters. I am looking to build it decently fast. Whats first and how much?
A: heres the top 10 go fast goodies that are under 500 bucks (well most of them are anyway, ill keep it good and cheap)
1. Gears! it makes the car WAAAY quicker off the line! for you, a set of 4.10’s would be perfect (because V6’s have a lack of torque) and make sure you buy them for your 7.5 rearend, not the 8.8 rearend (v8 cars)
2. Short throw shifter. because you can whip a faster cars ass if you have a good shifter and know how to drive
3. Nitrous- because 100hp is a big step up, not to mention good for the price. try to get 100hp out of any other mod for the cash. you cant.
4. SCT Xcal 2 handheld tuner. believe me, worth the money spent. plus you can tune all the paramaters of your engine!
buy this first.
5. Drag Radial Tires – again, if the guy next to you is just spinning his tires while your “gripping and leaving” then you just won the race.
6. Exhaust upgrade – since you have flows (good choice btw) just get some shortie headers and a off road (no cats) X pipe
7. Cold air intake – need i say more?
8. Intake manifold upgrade – for the 4.6 V8 its possible but i dont know of any aftermarket places that make one for the V6 but if you look im sure somebody will have one.
9. Camshafts- worth every damn penny. gives you way more hp and torque than any other upgrade (except nitrous or a turbo)
10. forced induction – hit the junkyard and make yourself a homegrown turbo kit. it will gain you the most HP hands down but its gonna cost around 4 to 6 grand.

I have a 1965 mustang fastback and im making it into a rally car but i need to know what is the best type of engine for it.
A: Well since that car was built for a small block you can’t use anykind of bigblock, besides the rule book may dictate the engine size, the original was a 289 and can be bored to 292, if they allow strokers take it to 332 or 347..
Q: What is the best economical spark plugs and wires for a 1993 mustang gt?
What is the best mid-line to economical spark plug wires and plugs? I don’t do much hot rodding it is a daily commuter of about 80 miles all highway. 100,000 mile mustang.
A: Motorcraft wires are a good plug wire. Then get some bosch platinum plugs. Or even the bosch wires are a good pick. Accell also makes a good product. depending on what you want to spend.
Q: How can I make my mustang look more masculine?
I got a 2000 Ford Mustang V6 in cherry red. What are some cheep exterior accessories that I can buy to make it look more like a guys car? Also, the hood and side scoops are fake and are just for show. Can I get real ones or just take them out? Will it affect the car’s performance?
A: Keep it in the original shape, that will make it look like a mean manly mustang.
Then get a good paint job, look around at photos of mustangs of your model and check out what looks good and take your own spin from it.
If you’re gonna do exterior modifications, do a proper job of it. Don’t ruin it by making it look like you’ve just brought it from a 5 year old. If it’s fake bin it IMO, keep everything functional – fakes are pointless, and it only adds unnecessary bulk and weight to the car. …A nice set of MAG wheels don’t hurt – and would do more good for the cars looks than fake scoops etc.
I think a mustang looks pretty good in it’s original shape, though I think a car can really stand out when you make the interior better. Nice steering wheel perhaps, fresh seats, perhaps custom dials..the list goes on.
Btw…. Stripes will make it go faster

Q: How much is a new head gasket with installation on a 95 Mustang?
I am considering buying a 95 Mustang for my first car and the only thing it needs is a head gasket. The car is already priced way below KBB at $800 so how much would a head gasket installed be? Also is this a good deal even though the car is not inspected? And can a car run a little bit without a head gasket?
A: Hi: Short answer. DO not buy this car.
If the head gasket is shot the main bearings may also be washed out from having coolant in the engine.
You could spend from $500 bucks to $1500 depending on wether you need to have the heads or block machined etc as they may have been warped by the engine overheating when the gasket let go, then have to rebuild the entire motor a month later when the bearings come to a screeching halt.
Either get a new/ used motor and replace the entire thing or stay away from the car altogether.
And No, a car can not run without a head gasket. After about 10 miles the motor will seize up.

A: on a car that old, you may need a lot more, like wheel cylinders and Master cylinder.. rubber lines are around $25 each x3 and another $100 for shoes would be the minimum..

A: A basically stock Mustang with a 289 will get about 15 MPG.

My dad just got a brand new Mustang GT. I’m racking my brain trying to find something to get him for christmas and I thought getting him something for his new car would be great. Any ideas? I’m not much of a car person so i don’t really know something specific. It would have to be less than like $60 and it has to be an accesory to the car, not like a model of it or anything. His car is the really bright red not the dark maroon they have. I don’t know if that helps but you never know.

One of my co-workers has a very cool looking Mustang Grille hung above his desk (great wall art). The grill was disgarded by the customer when she had a custom one installed .
Another freebie would be to have an extra door key made for him. A door key wont start his car but it will get him in if he locks himself out…See his salesperson for help on that. …..You could put that key in a nice wallet.

I am looking for inexpensive ways to make the exterior of my 06 V6 Mustang look hot. I have windows tined to 20% and the side window Louvers. Thought about the back window louver but it seems like it would hinder the view. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!
A: put the mustang gt fog lights in the front, and if u dont already have it…tht stripe tht says Mustang, on the bottom of the doors.

A: it’s ford, you’ll prolly need a special tool,lol. I’m not sure of the clips, but If I were you I’d buy the Haye’s Repair manual(20dollars) It helps ALOT…and I’d like to say you are awesome for having a ’stang, and the fact you wanna work on it is hot!! best of luck!

I am trying to add a dress up Steeda shift handle and cannot see how you remove the existing handle to replace it. This is for an automatic transmission 5.0 Fox-body Mustang.

I have a 2007 Mustang and I need to remove the trunk emblem so I can install a blackout vinyl. What’s the best way to remove this emblem? Also, what should I use to reinstall the emblem once the vinyl is on?

Q: Why doesnt Nascar use a Mustang instead of a Fusion for the body style of their cars?
Mustang are the prominent sports car on the road today, whereas the fusion doesnt relate well to being a racecar.
I agree that a camry isnt a muscle car either, but Toyota really doesnt have an option.
A: Rumors are floating around that the Nationwide Series cars will switch to the ‘Pony” or ‘Muscle’ cars along with the new COT.
Ford… Fusion to Mustang
Dodge… Charger to Challenger
Chevy… Monte Carlo SS (or is it Impala for the Nationwide?) to Camaro
Toyota… they’ll more than likely stay with the Camry. The Corolla is an option as well.
