Q: Where can I find 1968 Pontiac GTO Headlight Bezels?
I take it no one makes reproduction bezels for that year and that is why I’m having a hard time finding a pair. All I can find are hideaway headlights for the ‘68 GTO… or headlight bezels for the ‘70 GTO. So what I’m asking is if you may know where I can find 1968 Pontiac GTO Headlight Bezels.

A: I looked all over for you – Jegs, JCWhitney, Autozone, etc. but couldn’t find the item listed itself. Looked on ebay, and what do you know – they have a whole bunch of them.

You will have to be the judge of what you need – the 67 Bezel looks like it should fit, since the model didn’t change significantly.

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=GTO+Headlight+Bezels&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Q: What Problems have been reported with the new Pontiac GTO’s?
I’m getting ready to buy an 05 Pontiac GTO.And have asked alot of questions on here about them. But one question I haven’t asked is..What problems have been reported reguarding the GTO.I heard things such as the steering failing and also failing front struts, power seats going out and radios dieing.I’ve heard from a friend of a friend that his GTO was garaged for a month waiting on parts to be imported! I really don’t want to experience anything like these problems and would like to know if they are frequent and common among GTO’s.Thanks!
I know the GTO is the same thing as a Monaro.Made in Australia by the GM subsidairy Holden. My aunt that lives in Australia actually has a Monaro and loves it.I’m not asking what the GTO is and where it is made and such I just want to know what problems have been reported with it.

A: I heard they are too fast, and too cool…and they make a lot of people envious…lol

This car was a Monaro a couple years before the GTO…so the kinks have been worked out ahead of time…GM rushed it over here when it was first released in the USA because of the high demand…so replacement parts were not readily available…that is not an issue today…

Q: How much will Pontiac GTO prices drop now that Pontiac has shut down?
i want a GTO but the good ones are a little too expensive. When and how much will the prices drop?

A: The price will either hold or oddly enough increase. Since the brand has been terminated, Pontiac’s, especially the GTO will be considered as rare. Just a thought.

Q: i have a 2008 porsche cayman S..would i win in a drag race with the 2005 pontiac GTO?
i have a 2008 porsche cayman S..would i win in a drag race with the 2005 pontiac GTO?

A: It would be close, but ultimately the GTO would enjoy an advantage and should be able to win in a drag race with all things being equal (ie, drivers, tires, etc).

The power to weight ratios are very close, and as has been pointed out, favor the Porsche. However, this overlooks a couple very key points. First, Porsches are generally not geared for drag racing, as where the GTO is. Likewise, the Cayman lacks a mechanical LSD; the GTO does have this. So while it is very heavy, it will have more appropriate gearing and a good deal more traction than the Porsche for it’s launch.

And lastly, while the peak power to weight ratio favors the Porsche, the fact that the Pontiac has almost twice the displacement of the Porsche means that it will be producing more power early on! At peak, the Porsche will have more to move it’s weight, but from a launch? The larger displacement will produce more power earlier on.

In short, the GTO’s entire platform was built to excel in exactly this kind of contest, as where the Porsche was designed to excel on a road course (where it’s superior balance, chassis rigidity, transient handling capacities, and so on, would have it far ahead of the GTO).

Q: What hood decal color is used on a 1970 Ram Air III Pontiac GTO?
As I understand it, the Ram Air III option used a hood scoop decal that simply read “RAM AIR” (as opposed to the Ram Air IV which read “RAM AIR IV”).

For a Cardinal Red 1970 GTO, what color “RAM AIR” decal is correct? Google image searches – even restored auction cars – show black decals on some, white on others.

A: call Ames performance, or classic industries, they should be able to answer that correctly.
I’m going purely on what I’ve seen in my many years as a Pontiac man, on the Cardinal red cars I’ve seen mostly black decals. I have seen only one that had white decals on it, and it had a white interior. I don’t know if that makes any difference or helps, thats just what I’ve seen.

Q: Good Christmas gift for a Pontiac GTO lover?
I have never gotten my husband a “good” gift. He’s really just a big kid and doesn’t get excited over anything that is not some type of “toy”. He just built himself a brand new three car garage, and spent a lot on it, I think that is enough of a gift! He’s a pontiac guy, has a 71 TransAm but would really like a GTO. What would be a cool gift for him?? Oh, and its also his 40th birthday on Christmas day!

A: all of us love toys especially high tech stuff.
here are some toy gift options from a man:
1 The new Philips shaver
2 Home Theater System (u can get a good LG hts for less than 350)
3 New cell phone
4 Digital Picture Frame
5 Radar detector or Garmin GPS for the car
6 Massage Recliner (1000-2200)
7 Universal Remote Control with color LCD (300-500)
a GTO would be nice too but cant afford cant find then go with small electronic stuff

Q: What Pontiac GTO won 27 Championships all in one year!?
One car, Pontiac GTO won 27 Championship Titles in One Year, what year and who?
The Back of the Famous Pontiac, read for all those that trailed behind; ” YOU’VE JUST BEEN DOC-TORED”!

A: 1966 GTO 389 Tri-power “Tin Indian V”
Driven by Arlen Vanke, Bill Abraham, and “Doc” Dixon

Q: What year Pontiac GTO do you think looks the best?
I wanted to get an older GTO and fix it up myself when I come back from the military. What year do you think looks the best?

A: The ‘65 is the quintessential GTO, the ‘66 is the curviest, and the ‘70 may look the mightiest . . . but that’s just my attempt to be objective. Personally, a ‘69 with hidden headlights is pretty sweet – especially a Judge!

Q: What kind of mods can I do to my stock 2004 pontiac gto to make it faster?
I recently got a gto and i want to do some mods to it to make it faster, I know i want to put a cam on there but what else can I do?

A: Ah listen to me i answered to another guy with same car and question. go to this site here and will give you tons of stuff but buy these: a Cold Air Intake, Borla Exhaust, and Performance Headers. These will give you up to about 100HP, and if you got the 6-7k money get the Magna supercharger to give you loads of power and be able to take on Z06 Corvettes. but if not get those parts the should give ur GTO way more power. and if you can get a Performance Chip that can get ur GTO to go up to its max 200MPH, since right now your probably limited to like 150 or 160MPH. all that can help you out alot oh and ,make sure your tires can handle up to 200MPH. hope i helped
The site to get these things:
PFYC.com

Q: How to my mod my 2010 Cobalt SS to beat a LS2 Pontiac GTO?
I just purchaed a 2010 Cobalt SS turbo and was wondering how badly my brothers 6.0 liter GTO would take me, GTO is stock. How can i mod it to beat him?

A: 20 pounds of boost would do it. Still…this is a warrantied car and you don’t do that on a car with a warranty. The stock gto get’s to 60 in around 4.7 seconds and runs 13’s in the quarter mile. The cobalt ss turbo runs to 60 in around 5.5 seconds (if you’re a good driver) and 14’s in the quarter mile (you would lose by maybe a car length if that). So if he sucks at driving then you can probably beat him as is. Conceivably if you have the RPD (launch control) you could probably beat him as is, but racing a warrantied car is also a bad idea…though the LNF can take it.

Actually…you could get the GMPP stage kit and it would be even closer.

Q: When is the next Pontiac GTO coming out?
When is the next Pontiac GTO coming out?

A: The Pontiac division is closing down, why would they come out with new models.

Q: What is the best supercharger for a pontiac gto 2006?
Is it a vortech, procharger, what. and how much hp will it have with it?

A: i`ve heard best results with a procharger. a PC will give u 55% gain. others are ibn teh thirties or so..

Q: How to unlock or remove a 2004 Pontiac GTO rotors?
I need to turn the rotors on my car but they are locked. How can I unlock them or remove them? I bought the car used and do not have a manuel. Thank you for your help.

A: They’re rusted on the wheel bearing hubs. Tap the inside out with a 1-2 lb. maul as you turn the rotors. When they “pop” loose the inside surface of the wheel studs must be thoroughly cleaned with a flat circular mandrel mounted brush in a battery or electric 3/8 drill motor. Do the same to the inner mating surface of the old rotors if you intend to use them again. When the old or new rotors are ready to go back on paint the lug-stud surface with Never Seize so the rotors don’t stick again.

*You’ll need a special square hollow tool with drive ears from NAPA or Carquest for your specific car. Turn screw clockwise the rear brake pistons back inside the calipers. It fits in side a 3/8 short extension with a drive ratchet. Buy the black colored hardened tool as the bright shiny one is an cheap off-shore piece of crap that will break easily.

Q: how is the pontiac gto with the ls2 engine?
how is the pontiac gto with the ls2 engine, does it perform well and handle well

A: I love mine! Seats are very comfortable and supportive, handling in excellent, power is incredible.

Q: Why did Mustang Sally buy a new Pontiac GTO?
Wilson Pickett wrote a song, Mustang Sally and her 1965 Mustang. John Lee Hooker wrote a song, Mustang Sally bought a New GTO. Why did Mustang Sally buy a new GTO!
Question in Car Makes “Ford” as well.

A: Sally realized that General Motors built a faster car!

Q: Is the oncoming Nissan GT-R fastest car under 100k?
3.5 sec 0-60! is that fastest speed for under 100k?

A: It sure does look like it’s gonna ROCK the Autoworld and have most auto companies putting in some overtime!

Nissan Power! LOL

Q: Will they stop making the Nissan GT-R anytime soon?
Im wondering if it will still be available in the next 10-15 years

A: they probably will until they release another better model, the past has shown us that nissan only debuts this model every few years. the current GT-R is the 13-14 generation?? i know for sure the skyline name has been around since the early 60’s and the most recognizable body style came out in 87.

Q: who like nissan skyline GT-R R33?
who like Nissan Skyline GT-R R33?
i have R33 and i got from japan

A: Great car however there are only a few thousand ever made. Rare and hard to find parts in the USA.

Q: When is the 2009 Nissan gt-r coming out?
I need to know when it will be in the market in the united states??

A: It is already in the U.S. market, they started taking orders on it back in February and the first GT-R delivered was on July 7. Pretty much all 2009 models are spoken for, however alot of GT-Rs that dealerships are selling are vehicles that the dealerships placed fake orders on just to get the cars in. Some dealerships even took customers orders on the car, then when the car arrived they basically told the customer “sorry, but we’re auctioning off your car to the highest bidder”. Sad really. While mine sat on the showroom floor, the GM received numerous offers to buy it (for significantly more than I paid for it).

Some tips if you’re looking to buy:
- I read somewhere Titanium is a 2009 color only, and that Super Silver is a first year color only as well (silver might be offered in the future, but not the special Super Silver high-luster-lots-of-clearcoats silver)
- I also read somewhere that about 60% of 2010 models are already spoken for
- Most dealerships are placing high markups on this car, but some are coming down on markups
- I have a letter from Nissan telling me that I will be receiving an exclusive GT-R Owner’s Book and Certificate of Ownership that authenticates production in initial year. Those two items are for 2009 owners only (although they might end up giving those to future model owners as well, just not intial production certificates)

And please do not believe everything you read from the master tech above me, because most of it is false. He may be a GT-R master tech, but I am an enthusiast and have been following this car since it was conceived. First of all, there are more than 1,400 2009 model GT-R’s. There are 2,400 2009 models allotted to the U.S., 1,500 a year to follow in 2010 and beyond. This car is just fine as a daily driver, depending on your tolerance. If you realize that it is a race car, then you can get past the fact that it is not the smoothest ride. I happen to think it is a fairly smooth highway ride. That’s like people that complain that the Corvette rides rough. It’s not a luxury vehicle people, it’s a performance machine. The prices John Paul is giving on service is dependent upon the dealership. My dealership here in Houston is not nearly that expensive. Some dealerships are even charging customers for services that are supposed to be complimentary for the GT-R owner.

Q: Where Can I Buy A 2009 Nissan GT-R?
I Live In Chicago, Illinois I Have 150,000 Dollars Where Can I Find One Of These Cars?

A: We have 3 incoming and one person on the waiting list. Supposedly 75k and we are marking up 35k. Owner gets it, I don’t

We get it in, 1st person gets a call, they have 72 hours to come in, test drive and sign the papers, they don’t want, they get their $5000 back. . After 72 hours we will go to person #2.

Know some delaers in Cali are marking up 50k, and have heard of dealers somewhere in Ohio selling for sticker, but all speculation as noone has the cars yet

Good Luck!

Q: would you buy a Nissan GT-R or a Lotus Exige S?
Lotus Exige S at approx. 65k
GT-R at 80k

A: lotus exige. i love lotus’ so id have to say that. theyre beautiful cars

Q: PORSCHE 911 v NISSAN SKLINE GT-r 35 =)?
Which do you think is better, the mind blowing Porsche 911 turbo or the super powerfull Nissan skyline GT-R.I’m stuck between a very tricky decision.Help me please

A: There is no comparison here. The Porsche 911 vs. the Datsun Skyline? Why not the Porsche 911 vs. the Honda Civic or a Subaru? The Skyline may look sporty (I saw my first one just yesterday and thought it was a Subaru at first, honestly) to some, but under the pretty-boy body and fat tires lies a Sentra… the same Sentra that sells for $14k everywhere in America. This car is engineered for looks not for performance. The 911 is a classic and will always be a classic. The Skyline will be a worthless and long forgotten experiment in just a few years.

Q: driving in my E92 m3 coupe and lost to a nissan GT-R!!!!?
i was suprised that i lost to a nissan! we both were rolling at 30mph, and we both floored it. the nissan was already way ahead of me and it seemed like i had no chance!
i was really suprised…. maybe i was not driving properly because i should have atleast stayed with the nissan!

A: Not at all…

GTRs are way faster than M3s

Q: Where can I buy a 99 Model Nissan Skyline GT-R V- Spec?

A: try
skylineowners.com
members from all over the world to advice you on owning getting and running. All free advice.

Q: what would win in a race a Nissan Gt-R or a Corvette ZR1?

A: The new ZR1 is much faster than the GT-R in any race. A stock ZR1 with a good driver should be able to get in the 10’s 1/4 mile, as a guy by the name of ranger (i think he’s on youtube) has run 10.90’s with a stock ZO6, which has about 120 less hp than the ZR1. Most magazines have the ZO6 from anywhere between 11.50 and 11.90. The GTR should be around the mid to high 11’s 1/4 mile.

I have also seen a video of a stock ZO6 beating a stock GTR from a roll and from a dig, and it beat it pretty badly. The GTR is a beast, but it is not the world beater it was made out to be. If it can’t handle the ZO6 then in no way does it want any of the ZR1. It will be a brutal beatdown.

The ZR1 should win, however, as it has 140 more hp and is much lighter.

The first poster is probably seeing the times for the C4 ZR1, made in the early 90’s with a 405 hp 5.7L V8, the C6 ZR1 is a much different animal with a 6.2L 620hp supercharged mill.

Q: does the 2010 nissan gt-r burnsout with it’s real wheels?
and it’s all wheel drive and i have seen a video but it burnsout with it’s real wheels

A: It would if you went through the trouble of disconnecting the AWD making it RWD. Otherwise no it wouldn’t.

Q: Are AWD cars good in the snow? Cars like a Dodge Stealth, Nissan GT-R and so on.?
Dumb question but interested in the answers!

A: AWD performance cars are a little better in snow but not a lot.

When I lived in Chicago, I had a gf who owned a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. She had a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks for winter driving (sounds like a cool chick, right?). That car was pretty awful in the snow, and that’s on plowed and salted roads. I had an AWD SUV with all season tires and it was a lot better, so we drove that most of the time.

Tires make a real big diff in snow. All those people with AWD and all season tires can get stuck just as easy as 2WD cars with all season’s.

Q: Which car would you rather buy? Nissan Gt-R or Porsche Carrera 4s Cabr?
I live in toronto… rush hour traffic is crazy… and goin at high speed is 120 kph on the highway the most w/o getting a ticket… and as a paramedic, i cant afford tickets…
Hey df…
Who says paramedics can afford a 100K car? maybe you cant…

A: I suppose it is personal choice,as well as which spec suits you.

So my personal choice would be the GT-R is looks great and has alot to offer as with GTR models of the past these always come with advanced technology and have always been great cars since the first GTR models came out.

No one can knock twhat the GT-R has to offer as there are a mass of reviews from top people saying such good things about these cars. And they are now winning races on the track.

The transmission issue,if you pull off all the time altering traction then it is an issue, but why would anyone do this all the time,if you pull of in full power in any car all the time it would case some issues,Nissan are upgrading there boxes and atm Nismo have an upgrade for them.

Any excellent review which is fun also.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUAwj3mcDCU

http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/1213/2341/28031170053_medium.jpg
Me dreaming i owned one whilst sat in one at car show.

Q: Does anybody selling a Nissan GT-R?
I’m looking to buy a gt-r for my personal use but not willing to pay more than $70,000– does anybody know any sources? It needs to be a legit car and in working order, minor repairs needed are acceptable.

A: You won’t find a GT-R anywhere for anything even close to sticker price. If you really want one, you’ll have to pay a high premium price for it. Good luck.

Q: What’s the best car-care product for my Nissan Skyline GT-R?

A: i have a sc300 or Soarer from Japan and I use Shining Monkey wax, my car is a 1998 and shiney and smooth like it was an 2006… thats my vote – I have used megaurs and others for years… i tried Shining Monkey and now, ill never use anything else, that stuff is priced right and works amazing, better than even professional stuff i’ve tried

Q: What kind of mileage do you expect a PORSCHE 911 targa to get?
‘75-’85
thanks guys.

A: 22 mpg, at least.

Q: How many passangers cam the Porsche 911 4 cabriolet seat?
this most likely sounds dumb but i looked like on like 10 websites that gave me no answer . its either 2 or 4 couldnt tell
no stupid comments please
Thanks

A: 2 comfortably, 4 for a short distance.

Q: how much is a 1974 Porsche 911 flat nose with 49K original miles worth?
in perfect running condition, in need of paint job and interior update. all original dash.

A: There are alot of questions around this car just from what’ you’ve written.

First off, there was no such thing as a factory flat nose in 1974. Depending on the quality of the body kit and the quality of the install, such a change may not significantly devalue the car, but even if perfect, it will not enhance it.

Second is the low mileage. While considered by many to be a plus, it can often be a bad sign with older Porsches as these cars really need to be driven to keep everything lubricated and running. More significantly though, as a 2.7L model with that low mileage, there is a very good chance that the engine has never been rebuilt and still has the original and very problematic head studs. Unless you have documentation around the rebuild (and that it was done with either the divelar or racewear head studs) any potential buyer will consider it need of such.

A perfect condition 1974 911 that’s had all problem areas addressed could be worth somewhere in the $14-16k range. The same car in need or cosmetic work, but in good mechanical condition could run in the $8-11k range. The same car with an professionally installed and fitted body kit could be worth something in the $7-9k range. That same car with an more typical body kit install would be worth somewhere in the $5-7k range. If the engine either has not been rebuilt or not had that rebuild documented, it will most likely be considered the same as a rolling chassis, and run in the $3-5k range.

Q: I have a 1974 2.7L Porsche 911. How much will it cost to get the 5 spd transmission rebulit?
The transmission currently will not go into 1st or 2nd gear. Has anyone had a similar rebuild done?

A: The bottom line is that it will be costly, with final costs depending on the specifics as far as exactly what has gone wrong with the transmission (and too, who is doing the work, though this is not something you’ll want to trust to the least expensive shop – stick to a known Porsche shop that with expertise in the 915 transmission).

As to cost? Expect it to run $1500-$3500 (again, depending on what is and isn’t ok in the transmission). The last rebuild I went through came after a some morning sessions at the track, and though major, I was able to limp home keeping the revs low and using the limited gears I could get. The transmission work came to about $2400 (though I did some other things as well since everything was going to be out of the car). In my case I wound up being able to reuse quite alot, which helped keep the price down (though likewise also choose to replace anything that could be a future failure point or anything that was a low cost item since everything was apart).

Assuming the problem is with the transmission and not just a syncro or shift fork and that you need a rebuild, you will also need to consider that it may be more economical to simply get a rebuilt 915 to install in the car. A replacement transmission in good condition could easily be cheaper than the cheapest rebuild, and a recently rebuilt unit will still run less than most rebuilds.

The two potential issues with this route would be that your car (if I recall correctly) still has the early 915 ring and pinion with the lower final drive, which you would most likely want to retain in any replacement. Also, if you have a LSD or such installed, cost to get a replacement with an LSD (also rebuilt as the factory clutch style units should be services every 30k) will be much closer to that of a rebuild. Still, it’s an option you may want to look at depending on the extent of the problems with your transmission.

Ultimately though, the next step is to have a knowledgable Porsche mechanic take a look. If there are any shops in your area that special in race prep and vintage Porsches, this would be the place to look (the 915 transmission is heavily used here, and such a shop would have major experience in such rebuilds).

Q: what is the most sought after porsche 911?
Is a 1987-1989 930S considered rare?
Do you think they will hold value going forward?

A: In short-
most sought after 911’s these days are the 1973 Carrera RS ,the 1967 (68?) 911R, 911ST, and any RSR from the 70’s be it longhood or short.

Other “obtainable” desireables are the 1989 930, the 1994 3.6 turbo. Anything that says GT3, RS (or both) on it. Also cars built before 1974 have been going up in value.

930S slantnose is somewhat rare if it’s from the factory. I see they’re values climbing a bit lately. What was once “Miami Vice” styling seems to becoming retro cool somehow.

Q: Do all porsche 911 models seat 4 people?
I was just curious if all the 911 models had rear seats.

A: No, but the exceptions are just a few and limited to special editions of the 911 series (assuming, of course, you are referring to regular production road models, not race cars). An example is the 1989 911 Speedster edition.

Also, it should be clarified that the 911 was produced from 1965 and 1989 (model year). The versions that followed are commonly referred to as “911″ but in reality they are different series.

Finally, on a side note, while most of them have rear seats, to say that they seat 4 people is quite optimistic…

Q: Anything about Porsche 911 Sport Classic info?
Please give me some info about Porsche 911 Sport Classic. THX.

A: The 911 Sport Classic will be introduced at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. It appears to be largely based on the 997 Carrera S, though with a different rear spoiler, different roof (from pictures, it appears to be a different skin as opposed to a structural change), and seems to share the wide body fenders with the Turbo and such models. Additionally, some changes to the intake have pushed it just over 400hp (which will probably find there way to the 997S in the next model year as it is due for a power bump). The car features new custom 19″ wheels which appear to have been heavily influenced by the classic Porsche Fuchs from the air cooled era.

There will be 250 such cars produced. Cost in US dollars is $240k, though no announcement about availability in the US has yet been made.

Not really that special of a car, but an interesting combination. And probably a potential collector car since it is so limited. The car will be produced in Ludwigsberg, like earlier special runs (like the 965S).

Q: I Want to Purchase a Porsche 911 — How Reliable Are They?
I hear expensive sports cars are rather unreliable.

A: Any Porsche that was maintained will be very reliable. Do be cautious however, if it was not maintained well then you could get into a money pit. If you like working on the cars yourself, you should have no problems. They really are not that hard to work on.

Q: Rear window in a 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Convertible.?
2001 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Convertible , the rear window is yellowed and brittle and its only a matter of time. Can you replace just the window or does mean whole new roof? How much will it set me back?

A: yes u can just replace window….

google will help u find companies that do it…….also can call ur local glass shops and see who they recommend…

Q: 1988 porsche 911 converted to 134a.What temperature should be coming out of the vents?

A: record the temp in the car, the temp output should be at least 15 to 20 degrees lower.

Q: How can i change the digital display from kilometers to mph on a 1999 porsche 911?

A: Check the owners manual. I dont remember quite how to do it (i did it once on my 99 996, but dont remember). It should be listed in the manual under instrumentation.

Q: How do I get a Porsche 911 on Test Drive Unlimited?
I have TDU (Test Drive Unlimited) on XBOX 360

I really want one and I don’t care if i have to use a cheat code

Thank You

A: yea i have tdu for xbox 360 and rlly want a porsche too tho i think they only have them for pc

Q: What is the difference from a 1999 porsche 911 coupe, and a 911/996??? Is there a difference 911 or 996?
I was under the impression a 911 and a 996 were 2 different cars?? The info I keep finding keeps listing them together as one??

A: The porsche 911 has been around for quite a long time, i think its like 30 years, not sure though. but every 6 or so years, they have to make a new body style for the same car. Its kinda like the honda civic, it gets updated. now the 996 dignifies which body style the porsche is, unstead of just saying a 1999 porsche 911 you can say a 911 996. now porsche just updated the porsche 911 last year, and the new body style is called the 997. so to answer your question a 1999 porsche 911 IS the same thing as a porsche 911 996. potatoe patatoeeee, tomato tamato, same difference

Q: blueish cloudy smoke coming from exhausts as i start my 1999 porsche 911?
smoke burns out after driving for 30 seconds

A: Blue smoke indicates you are getting oil into the cylinders. There can be various sources but the easiest and cheapest would be the EGR-valve which is located in the valve cover. Burning oil is a progressive deterioration of your motor and should be looked at by a qualified mechanic to prevent a major repair.

Q: How do I install a 1600 VolksWagen Engine in a 69 911 Porsche?
The engine is already installed but haveing problems with the pressure plate and clutch system. Does anybody have any information, resources or guidance to help me out. Thanks!

A: Hey it might not fit in the 1969 911 Porsche any way so get sum specialist k they will help. It will take a long time 2 build it in

For more information and awesome write up about the Mustang Please visit the top car portal ToTheFloor.com

Q: What type of valve needs to be replaced if my 1995 Mustang is over heating?
I was driving my ‘95 mustang the other day and it started to over heat, when i took it to my mechanic he told me that the valvle needs to be replaced. He never told me which one and i was planning on doing some research to find a cheaper one.

A: What the heck would a valve have to do with overheating?
That is usually a thermostat problem, or head gasket or bad radiator.
I have never heard of a bad valve causing that problem.

Q: What are the best things to install on my new 01 mustang?
Its an 01 3.8L V6 mustang. It already has flowmasters. I am looking to build it decently fast. Whats first and how much?

A: heres the top 10 go fast goodies that are under 500 bucks (well most of them are anyway, ill keep it good and cheap)
1. Gears! it makes the car WAAAY quicker off the line! for you, a set of 4.10’s would be perfect (because V6’s have a lack of torque) and make sure you buy them for your 7.5 rearend, not the 8.8 rearend (v8 cars)
2. Short throw shifter. because you can whip a faster cars ass if you have a good shifter and know how to drive
3. Nitrous- because 100hp is a big step up, not to mention good for the price. try to get 100hp out of any other mod for the cash. you cant.
4. SCT Xcal 2 handheld tuner. believe me, worth the money spent. plus you can tune all the paramaters of your engine!
buy this first.
5. Drag Radial Tires – again, if the guy next to you is just spinning his tires while your “gripping and leaving” then you just won the race.
6. Exhaust upgrade – since you have flows (good choice btw) just get some shortie headers and a off road (no cats) X pipe
7. Cold air intake – need i say more?
8. Intake manifold upgrade – for the 4.6 V8 its possible but i dont know of any aftermarket places that make one for the V6 but if you look im sure somebody will have one.
9. Camshafts- worth every damn penny. gives you way more hp and torque than any other upgrade (except nitrous or a turbo)
10. forced induction – hit the junkyard and make yourself a homegrown turbo kit. it will gain you the most HP hands down but its gonna cost around 4 to 6 grand.

Q: What is the best type of engine to put in a 1965 mustang fastback rally car?
I have a 1965 mustang fastback and im making it into a rally car but i need to know what is the best type of engine for it.

A: Well since that car was built for a small block you can’t use anykind of bigblock, besides the rule book may dictate the engine size, the original was a 289 and can be bored to 292, if they allow strokers take it to 332 or 347..

Q: What is the best economical spark plugs and wires for a 1993 mustang gt?
What is the best mid-line to economical spark plug wires and plugs? I don’t do much hot rodding it is a daily commuter of about 80 miles all highway. 100,000 mile mustang.

A: Motorcraft wires are a good plug wire. Then get some bosch platinum plugs. Or even the bosch wires are a good pick. Accell also makes a good product. depending on what you want to spend.

Q: How can I make my mustang look more masculine?
I got a 2000 Ford Mustang V6 in cherry red. What are some cheep exterior accessories that I can buy to make it look more like a guys car? Also, the hood and side scoops are fake and are just for show. Can I get real ones or just take them out? Will it affect the car’s performance?

A: Keep it in the original shape, that will make it look like a mean manly mustang.

Then get a good paint job, look around at photos of mustangs of your model and check out what looks good and take your own spin from it.

If you’re gonna do exterior modifications, do a proper job of it. Don’t ruin it by making it look like you’ve just brought it from a 5 year old. If it’s fake bin it IMO, keep everything functional – fakes are pointless, and it only adds unnecessary bulk and weight to the car. …A nice set of MAG wheels don’t hurt – and would do more good for the cars looks than fake scoops etc.

I think a mustang looks pretty good in it’s original shape, though I think a car can really stand out when you make the interior better. Nice steering wheel perhaps, fresh seats, perhaps custom dials..the list goes on.

Btw…. Stripes will make it go faster

All the best man.

Q: How much is a new head gasket with installation on a 95 Mustang?
I am considering buying a 95 Mustang for my first car and the only thing it needs is a head gasket. The car is already priced way below KBB at $800 so how much would a head gasket installed be? Also is this a good deal even though the car is not inspected? And can a car run a little bit without a head gasket?

A: Hi: Short answer. DO not buy this car.
If the head gasket is shot the main bearings may also be washed out from having coolant in the engine.
You could spend from $500 bucks to $1500 depending on wether you need to have the heads or block machined etc as they may have been warped by the engine overheating when the gasket let go, then have to rebuild the entire motor a month later when the bearings come to a screeching halt.
Either get a new/ used motor and replace the entire thing or stay away from the car altogether.
And No, a car can not run without a head gasket. After about 10 miles the motor will seize up.

russ

Q: How much should brakes and brake lines cost for a 69 ford mustang?
I’m thinking of buying a fastback mustang the only problem is that of need brakes and brake lines any idea of how much this soul cost????
I’m willing to spend $1000 for brakes and brake lines. I think I’ll need a whole new brake system! Will this be enough? I’m NOT doing it myself!

A: on a car that old, you may need a lot more, like wheel cylinders and Master cylinder.. rubber lines are around $25 each x3 and another $100 for shoes would be the minimum..

Q: How much mpg does a mustang with a 289 get?
I’m thinking of buying a a classic car but am starting to doubt my plans as the oil prices keep rising. So how much would a 60’s era mustang get with a 289 engine?

A: A basically stock Mustang with a 289 will get about 15 MPG.

Q: What is the length of the parking brake cable on a 1993 mustang lx 4 cylinder?
What is the length of the parking brake cable on a 1993 mustang lx 4 cylinder 2.3L .. I called canadian tire and they have two sizes, 57′ and 70′ I am not sure which is right.

A: My 3rd answer in the game! Still with me?

Q: What kind of accessory can I buy my dad for his new mustang?
My dad just got a brand new Mustang GT. I’m racking my brain trying to find something to get him for christmas and I thought getting him something for his new car would be great. Any ideas? I’m not much of a car person so i don’t really know something specific. It would have to be less than like $60 and it has to be an accesory to the car, not like a model of it or anything. His car is the really bright red not the dark maroon they have. I don’t know if that helps but you never know.

Thanks in advance!

A: You are so sweet !

Go to http://fordvehicles.com under the owners tab, you’ll find some help…..accessories …merchandise…etc
Your price range limits you a little bit but I’m sure you can shop there & find something suitable for $60

If you go there with Dad…I’m sure he’ll find lots of stuff that he would want.

Make sure Dad registers at “My Ford” @ this site as well..
Ford often sends out freebie stuff to those registered there.

Another good source for ideas is Dads salesperson.
I have been known for aquireing free posters & merchandise from the dealer e-store for my customers.
(I hope his salesperson is as cool as I am about that)

One of my co-workers has a very cool looking Mustang Grille hung above his desk (great wall art). The grill was disgarded by the customer when she had a custom one installed .

Another freebie would be to have an extra door key made for him. A door key wont start his car but it will get him in if he locks himself out…See his salesperson for help on that. …..You could put that key in a nice wallet.

I hope I’ve given you some good ideas! Your Dad is a lucky guy to have such a thoughtful gift-giver in the family!

Q: How do I make my Mustang look hot?
I am looking for inexpensive ways to make the exterior of my 06 V6 Mustang look hot. I have windows tined to 20% and the side window Louvers. Thought about the back window louver but it seems like it would hinder the view. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

A: put the mustang gt fog lights in the front, and if u dont already have it…tht stripe tht says Mustang, on the bottom of the doors.

Q: What type of clips hold on the fuel filter of a 2004 Mustang?
I have a 2004 Mustang coupe and I want to replace the fuel filter. What kind of clips hold on the hoses? Do I need a special tool to remove the clips?

A: it’s ford, you’ll prolly need a special tool, lol. I’m not sure of the clips, but If I were you I’d buy the Haye’s Repair manual(20dollars) It helps ALOT…and I’d like to say you are awesome for having a ’stang, and the fact you wanna work on it is hot!! best of luck!

Q: How do you remove an automatic tranny shifter handle from a 91 Mustang?
I am trying to add a dress up Steeda shift handle and cannot see how you remove the existing handle to replace it. This is for an automatic transmission 5.0 Fox-body Mustang.

A: obviously no else does either – since there are no other answers.

Have you tried a mustang owner’s group…
just do a search 91 mustang forums

Q: How should I remove the round trunk emblem from my late model Mustang?
I have a 2007 Mustang and I need to remove the trunk emblem so I can install a blackout vinyl. What’s the best way to remove this emblem? Also, what should I use to reinstall the emblem once the vinyl is on?

A: It should say it in the box. I would be careful not to damage anything. Sorry i cant be much of a help

Q: Why doesnt Nascar use a Mustang instead of a Fusion for the body style of their cars?
Mustang are the prominent sports car on the road today, whereas the fusion doesnt relate well to being a racecar.
I agree that a camry isnt a muscle car either, but Toyota really doesnt have an option.

A: Rumors are floating around that the Nationwide Series cars will switch to the ‘Pony” or ‘Muscle’ cars along with the new COT.

Ford… Fusion to Mustang

Dodge… Charger to Challenger

Chevy… Monte Carlo SS (or is it Impala for the Nationwide?) to Camaro

Toyota… they’ll more than likely stay with the Camry. The Corolla is an option as well.

*Edit* Sorry Tom P for the thumbs down! For some goofy reason your name and picture was different.. I thought it was an IMPOSTER!! Darn.. if only I could reverse that.. oh well. I’ll make it up by starring a question in the near future. Is that okay?

Q: hummer h2 2003-2006 wire schematics?
If there is anyone who has a WIRE SCHEMATIC for a hummer h2, for instalation or alarms and auto starters. Maybe there is a way of getting a copy, please email me with any info, ….THANKS

A: Try the website I listed below or contact www.hummer.com.

Q: Hello , I want to know how many people a hummer h2 stretch limo can hold , Im taking 18 people ,?

A: If in the UK they are treated as mini-bus taxis so the maximum they can carry is 8 passengers plus the driver – for 18 you will need 3 of them.
Realistically for 18 people you need a small bus not a limo unless you have lots of money to spend

Q: Hummer H2 VS Infiniti FX35?
I am looking for some real advice (not haters and not whiners).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hummer H2, and was all set to buy one (gas is not a major issue here as I don’t travel more than 12 miles a day). NY has hard winters and I need a safe, reliable, vehicle that gets through the bad weather – I don’t have the option of calling in “snow days”.

While out shopping, I spotted the Infiniti FX35 – and found that I also LOVE this car. Yes, I know – it’s apples and oranges . . . but both are very nice vehicles with equal but different costs and benefits.

H2 is slightly higher in gas (10 – 14 mpg compared to 15 – 20 mpg) – BUT FX35 is higher insurance, and probably higher maintenance – which negates the cost in gas.

H2 should be able to get me through any weather conditions without issues – I have not been able to test the FX35.

H2 would be 2005/2006 model with 68k miles on it . . but the H2 is estimated to run for about 300k miles.

The FX35 is a 2009, with 64k miles. Newer vehicle .. . but I don’t know the estimated lifespan for this car. Certainly, I don’t expect 300k???

Any owners of these vehicles have any input? advice?

Please don’t go on and on about the gas in the H2 . . . really the FX is not that great either, so it’s not a major issue in the decision. (Also, the FX requires premium gasoline – which brings the cost of gas per year closer and closer to H2).

I know they don’t make Hummer anymore . . . so should I stay away from it?

I have always wanted the H2, but now I find the FX35 to be a really nice car too. . .

Help?

A: I have had four H2’s (2003,2004,2005 &2008). The last production year was 2009.
The 2008 and 2009’s were better in every way than the 2003-2007 production runs. The engine was increased from 6.0L to 6.2L, the Auto trans was changed from a 5spd to a 6spd. The interior was redone in 2008 and the seats were more comfortable.
The off road ability was excellent. the truck can climb better than anything.

if you are looking at a 2005, have the front drive train inspected. Since it is full time 4×4 the front bearings wear out and this is a 2500.00 repair. The 6.0L engine is a workhorse and should not cause you any unusual maintenance? The SUT came out in 2005 and gives you a small pickup bed. with the locking tonneau cover it was more versatile.
If you really want a H2, buy a 2008. you will LOVE it and it will have a 4 year/50k warranty so you will still have a year of warranty hopefully?

Q: should i buy a hummer h2 2006?
hummer h2

A: No, buy a Jeep. Hummers are way to big to be practical daily drivers. A jeep will outrun a Hummer any day both on and offroad.

Q: How can I lower my Hummer H2?
lower the car so its lower to the ground

A: deflate your tires, that should work

Q: Hummer H2 question about tires.?
What size are the Hummer H2 tires stock?
(inches)

A: They came standard with LT315/70-17 tires which equates to an overall diameter of about 34.4 inches. Basically H2’s come stock with 35 inch tires.

Q: how much longer is a 2003 hummer h2 then a 2002 dogde grand caravan????

A: 2003 Hummer H2 Length – 189.8″ (source – http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/HummerH2/)

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Length – 5,093mm or 200.51″ (source – http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2002/dodge/grand_caravan/specifications/index.html, converted by google)

Q: I am looking for a grill guard for my XMODS 2004 Hummer H2 that is stronger than the one from radioshack.?
I have looked at www.atomicmods.com but the have no grill guards for the hummer.

A: A brush Guard might be able to be fabricated ! Contact FXRT based out of Lafayette Indiana. Below is a link to my Website which is dedicated to Xmods Performance!

http://www.freewebs.com/finelinexmodsracingteam/

Q: Hummer H2 price in four years?
How much would a 2005 Hummer H2 SUT cost, four years from now, based on your best predictions? Like, how much would its price decrease each year? Because I plan on driving at like 17, and I’m saving up for one I already have like $5,000 without a job (I plan on lifeguarding in a nearby country club at 15; I would be getting $3,000 each summer for it, excluding during the school year.) Do you think I can make it, too, by the way? I’ve always dreamed of owning a Hummer. So I’ll have 12,000 from lifeguarding for three years for the summer, and my 5,000 from Chinese New Year money over the years (Asians have the upper hand here XD), making it 17,000. I’ve seen Hummers in eBay motors for 20,000 right now so far, being 2003 models, though. I wouldn’t really care about the year model, though. It will be my first car, and it won’t matter much to me.

A: If you plan on buying a older model, remember these things love to chew up & spit out front wheel bearings. I just replaced 2 today at the dealership I work at. They are about $460.00 ea here plus labor. I think with labor it runs around $600.00 each side.
Trannys have a bad way of going to crap also, I would try to stay away from Ebay & stick to buying local, at least drive it & have it inspected prior to buying any vehicle.

Q: Hummer H2 SUT or Porsche Cayenne Turbo?
I want an SUV but I want to stand out because everyone in my town has almost every SUV but the H2-H2 SUT or the Cayenne Turbo. I like roomy SUV’s that’s why I want the hummer but I also like speed & power so I like the Cayenne Turbo, I’m going to be on a 6 year payment term so I want the one that well last & have the least problems so which is best? Also if I go with the H2 is there anything I can do to add more Horsepower to it?(i.e. intake, Exhaust System)

A: No question about it. It’s the Porsche. The hummer is just a normal suv with the looks of a bad boy. Porsche is a super Suv, with an attitude and looks of a bad boy. Technically speaking, the Porsche is superior in everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. As for the hummer underneath it it’s just a big truck.

Q: 2003 Hummer H2 or 2004 Range Rover for First car?
So in caouple of months I will be truning 15 and I want a Suv for my B-day. My Mom Loves the Range rovers($17,000 used).. And I love the Hummer H2 2003 is about ($15,000 used). We live up north in wisconsin so Snow Will be a contast problem and in our town it gets alot of snow. I’ve heard the Range rover is really bad for a reliable car… Cosumer reviews on a 2003 Hummer H2 are really good! Insucranse for me and My mom(she owns a 2010 Nissan Murano) is around arounf 99.78 a month for both cars! Which one so u think i should choose.. Im a huge guy so handling wont be a prob.
FYI insurance is for both cars.. We get discount for never having an accedent. B or up grades in school and also get a huge discount for both covered with health insurance and dental.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Where do you go to have your raised higher off the ground. I have a Hummer H2 SUT. I want it to be higher up.?
How much do you think it cost to do it?

A: There aren’t many large chain repair shops that do that as it is custom work. Look up some local truck shops in your area and ask what they would charge. If you just want it higher for looks, you want a body lift kit. If you plan on doing serious off roading, you need a suspension lift kit. Body lifts can typically be done for under 1000 bucks, sometimes around 500 bucks depending on how high you want to go. Suspension lifts are many thousands of dollars.

Q: Hooking up a head unit in my 2003 H2 but the speaker wires to the hummer dont work.?
Im stumped on why the speaker wires coming from the dash of the hummer wont work. Ive checked all the fuses and tried using a battery to see if i hear a pop but i hear nothing. any suggestions?
Thank You.

A: Did you do the lockout the stock radio before you removed it to replace it with the new one. If not its the anti theft thats doing that. Had it happen to me on a 94 z28. I just disconnect the battery for 10 min then hooked it back up and it worked fine. Goold luck

Q: HUMMER H2 for a first car? I am an experienced driver.?
OK,
To fisrt start off i am turning 16 in january and I am looking for a fisrt car and ,my parents want me to have a SUV bigger car(It’s just in their opinion i guess). I started looking at yukon denalis then I went to hummer because they have the same engine and made by the same company. I am an experienced driver. We own a huge campground all paved and I am on security at night and i drive a lot so LOL dont tell me to hard to handle! I want to know how many people dislike it and if you do tell me why! The hummer h2 for a 2003 runs around 13,000 and i found one for around that price. I am paying with my money. NOT PARENTS>

-NICK
I do off roading in the summer we have trials at the camper in the wood. I live in northern(way northern) WI and we get tons of snow I need a truck or SUV to even get around.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Hummer H2??????????>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>?
Hey, I’m 14 and will turn 15 in Nov. My dad is going to give me his 2007 yukon xl denali. I was just wondering if was reasonable to trade it for a hummer h2. My dad is going to buy an escalade. Anyway I mean what is the price difference it is fully loaded and pretty new looking. I would want my hummer to hav nav and tvs and rims u know the usual stuff.
Thanks man. I like h3s, but there is like two already at my highschool so I’ll think about it.

A: Get the H2 I own two fully loaded H2’s and on is the SUV and an SUT and they are both not even close to the yukon they are based off of the H1 and if you look it up you will see that they are and do not “share anything with the yukon so get the Hummer H2 they are better than an escalade. They are also not for guys with something to prove. Guys that say that are the ones that are jealous and envy all Hummer H2 owners.

For more information and awesome write up about the dodge viper Please visit the top car portal ToTheFloor.com

Q: which is faster and which do prefer DODGE VIPER OR CHEVY CORVETTE?
i myself would prefer the viper but i just want peoples opinions and if someone answers this question saying something stupid like both are just cars and they both run 70 miles per hour DONT ANSWER THE GOTDAMN QUESTION ITS VERY SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!

A: Faster is the Vette. I like the corvettes more than vipers, however I do believe Vipers are more aesthetically pleasing.

Q: what car is better dodge charger dodge viper or infiniti g35?

A: it should go

Viper,infinity, then charger

Q: I need a dodge viper truck infinity audio connector that connects from 6-disc radio to amplifier?
a 10-pin connector from the receiver to the amplifier

A: go to your local dodge dealership parts department

Q: if I buy a dodge viper and live in it, do I qualify for Obama’s $8,000 tax credit?
I currently live in an apartment but the lease expires next month. this would be my first home

A: No, because the car does not qualify as a home. To qualify as a home it must have inside sleeping, cooking, and toilet facilities. Now, if you bought an RV and legitimately moved into it as your main home for 3 full years THAT would qualify for the credit.

From Form 5405: “Main home. Your main home is the one you live in most of the time. It can be a house, houseboat, housetrailer, cooperative apartment, condominium, or other type of residence.”

If you’re really set on a Viper, maybe the folks at “Pimp My Ride” could fix you up with one that met the standards.

Q: Bugatti Veyron Vs Dodge Hennessey Viper Venom 1000?
I wanna know what do you think. The million dollar Veyron or the modified Dodge Viper.

2006 Bugatti Veyron 16.4
Acceleration 0-62 mph : 2.5 seconds
Top Speed mph (km/h) : 253 (407)
0-200 mph mark in a mere 14 seconds

2006 Dodge Hennessey Viper Venom 1000 Convertible / Coupe
Acceleration 0-60 mph s: 2.25 – Viper World Record – Convertible
Acceleration 0-60 mph s: 2.9 – Coupe
Top Speed : 255 mph[coupe]
the convertible is faster
0-200 mph: 19.9 seconds both the Dodge cars.

Bugatti’s acceleration was on 0-62 mph.So the acceleration of both cars are the same.
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bugatti_veyron.asp
http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/viper_venom_turbo.asp

http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/viper_venom1000.asp

I think the Veyron clearly wins. The Dodges engine is boosted to its max while the Bugatti’s performance is controlled.Hey The case is same with all the super cars.Tinker a supercar and mind blowing performance is the result.Bigger is Better.

A: YOUR TALKING APPLES AND ORANGES.
THE VIPER, NO MATTER WHICH VERSION, IS A BRUIT INTENDED TO GO AS FAST AS POSSIBLE NO MATTER THE COMFORT OF THE DRIVER.
THE VEYRON CODDLES THE DRIVER IN PURE ELEGANCE, CAN BE A DAILY DRIVER YET HAUL ASS IF IT SUITS THE DRIVER.
ON A LESSER SCALE. IT’S LIKE COMPARING A MUSTANG TO A JAG.
SO LET US KNOW WHICH ONE YOU BUY AND HOW IT WORKS OUT!

Q: Dodge viper 4th gen engine swap?
Couldn’t find any information on this with google but I’m wondering if anybody knew if a 4th gen. dodge viper engine and trans. would be able to swap into a 2nd gen. viper? Any kit’s for this (wiring that is)? I want to know and a couple people I work with would like to know also. Thanks.

A: If you are after more power, it would be FAR less expensive to add a set of Striker cylinder heads to your Gen II along with a custom roller. That will get you way into the ballpark for comparable power to the Gen IV.
Strikers are very close to the Gen IV head. And you can keep your existing tranny setup.

I added 145 wheel h.p. to my Gen III with that setup.

Q: which is faster a 2008 DODGE VIPER SRT 10 or a 2009 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1?
which is faster

A: 2009 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR1
(trust me♥)

Q: Which car is better ALL AROUND the corvette zr1 or the dodge viper srt10 or the Lamborghini gallardo?

A: The ZR1 and Viper have very similar track performance. The Viper is a little bit cheaper. The ZR1 is a more friendly street car. They can both do anything the Lambo can do for about 40% of the price.

I’d go with the ZR1.

Q: Are there any pictures of the Dodge Viper SRT-10 racing the f-18 jet?
The Dodge Vipe SRT-10 raced a F-18 and I’ve only been able to locate a few pictures. Could someone help me out?

A: Viper vs F16

Q: How much does a Dodge Viper SRT10 cost?

A: Convertible: $81,895
Coupe: $83,145

but this price may vary in different countries

Q: How much horse power does a new dodge VIPER have?
get it right and win

A: A whole Lot!!! You sent an answer to the dodge dakota question. I looked at those sites and put it in the search and it is as if it doesn’t exist. I ordered one in Nov, have been told they are on restriction. It is not buildable option on the Dodge site. I have Googled and Yahoo’d it and no one seems to have any information–not even the dealership. Thought maybe I would find someone here that knew. If you find anything on it I would be glad to know! Thanks.

Q: Where can i buy a dodge viper for 15 grand?

A: You can’t unless you find someone who has no clue and will sell a Viper for that much. Maybe even a police auction where they seized the car from someone.

Q: Ladies would you rather have a corvette or a dodge viper.?
How fast would you drive it.

A: Both! lol…. I would have to say corvette because I have an obsession with them and I think they look nicer and more feminine than the viper… And how fast would I drive it? Very fast.

Q: Why does Top Gear dislike the Dodge Viper?
have they driven the ACR? That will blow them away if they like the ZR1.

A: it’s because the VIPER is better, faster than anything they have to offer at about HALF the price.

Q: Where do I find the Dodge Viper GTS in Facebook Street Racing? Also where is the Renault Clio?

A: The Dodge Viper GTS is a random loot drop from the PS3 race in New York.

Q: What are the differences between a UK spec Toyota Supra and an import?
I was originally looking at getting a 93 Imported Supra TT, and then on my insurance i curiously selected the uk spec model instead and my insurance went down by £500!!!

Why do you think this is? The UK spec’s TT’s are faster than imports too!!

A: http://www.supras.co.uk/imports/differences.htm

link tells you all you need to know about the differences.
A little taken from the link.

Models
In the UK there were 2 models released, a Twin Turbo and an NA (normally aspirated). Both had fairly high specification with leather interiors and cruise control. The UK TT version has a large air intake in the middle of the bonnet and headlamp washers which make it stand out from the NA and import versions.
Japan had at least 5 different models released, ranging from standard NA up to full leather TT. The SZ was the NA, the GZ was a TT with leather, cruise, active spoliers, the RZ was a TT with cloth seats, airbags and sometimes and active spolier, and the RZ-S was a TT with electric seats but none of the other toys. These defining lines are blurred when you realise that most of the models can have ‘cost’ options to increase the specification. Look at each car individually and dont expect any of them to have exactly what is listed below.

Q: how to modifie toyota supra supra engine?
hi i recently bought a toyota supra with the twin turbo engine and i am wondering what i can do to modifie the engine and make it better performence wise, leave advice

thanks.

A: The best modification is to put a Chevy shroud on it.

Q: What’s a good price to pay for a 1988 Toyota Supra w/ a small leak in the power steering hose?
I’m considering buying this Supra. The owner informed me that it has a small leak in the power steering hose and the AC needs recharging. It has a clean CarFax. If this is to be my daily driver, do you think these are easy fixes for the vehicle? He is asking 2000.

A: Mileage, condition, tires, maintenance records? All these things make it impossible to say if this is a good deal or not. The fixes you mention are pretty easy; might run you $100 at some shops. Get an estimate by calling a local shop. You may be able to use that figure to negotiate a lower price.

If you really like the car, then it is a good price. If you don’t, then no price is cheap enough. I happen to like that model and, subject to my first sentence, I would consider it.

Q: Would an infant seat or a child seat fit into a 1986.5 Toyota Supra?
I’m writing a novel in which a character drives a 1986.5 Toyota Supra. She has a baby. Can she fit an infant seat into the Supra? How about when he gets older — say 1.5 to 2 years old; is there a child seat that would fit into the Supra?

A: yea i think it would but it hads to be a small car seat or a small baby

Q: What would win between the Mitsubishi 3000GT and the Toyota Supra?
I’m thinking about getting me one of these cars. As my next car, I have a Toyota Celica GT-S right now. I love my car a lot that I have. However, I’m going to sometime get another sport car. I’m thinking about keeping it in the family with Toyota since I already have one.

A: stay with toyota

Q: What’s The Difference Between a 5 and a 6 speed Toyota Supra?
What would you recommend? and is it possible to change a 5 speed supra into a six speed? And how much would it cost?

A: The difference between a 5-Speed and a 6-Speed won’t make that big of a difference in most applications. Supras aren’t exactly the cream of the crop in drag racing, or autocross. So 5 or 6 gear transmission won’t affect you by a drastic amount in racing, drifting, or just general acceleration.

Q: Is it possible to put a v8 in a Toyota Supra?
Yes I know a Supra has a straight 6. I am talking about a fourth generation supra (93-98) If so give me the info
without retro fit

A: Yep,
I have seen Nissan RB26DETT Inline 6’s in Supras, Chevy V-8’s Ford V-8’s Toyota V-8’s Rotary engines. And of course most recently “Top Secret” has just finished their V-12 Supra, I will link a video to it. It has a Toyota Crowne V-12 a 1GZ-FE I beleive. You can put anything into a Supra, it just takes money, as far as I know there arent very many companies that sell a kit that would make it a bolt in installation, but that doesnt mean it cant be done.
If you need to pass smog some states will allow engine swaps if the engine is newer than the car it is being put into. Then you can put an exhaust that will allow you to meet those standards. However if you are like me, you dont have to pass smog, so that isnt an issue.

Q: Toyota Supra?
Someone plz >>>give<<< me a mk 4 Toyota Supra TT. I am in love with that car and never will be able to afford it. Just wishing apon a shooting star.

A: Those things were pretty awesome. The closed deck iron block in those things were so strong. But there are plenty of good new cars now too. But you are right, they are beautiful. Could always try Internet porn. They say the money is good. Hope you’re not underage. Sorry.

Q: toyota supra?
is toyota going to make another model of the supra, if so when, and where can i find some info on it.

A: The rumors keep saying they will. Toyota keeps saying they have no plans for a “Supra”. These have been going on for years. Toyota doesn’t even have a sports car still.

Q: toyota supra?
so… is the back seat of the toyota supra uncomfortable?

A: What back seat? =p

Q: Toyota Supra???
how much would it cost to go buy a toyota supra in japan n then gett it shipped back to the us how much would that all cost iam talkin bout a good toyota supra that has good features to it like tires, engine, brakes to drift, etc…and wat model should i get in the toyota supra

A: whats your budget my friends sells cars in Japan not rubbish ones high spec ones so i can ask him if he has any at your price range. With shipping etc.
Model wise the turbo version against the na,both great cars and would nt knock either but i have drove the mark 4 n/a engine a good few times .But to me the twin turbocharged 2JZ-GTE would be more fun.

Q: toyota supra…………………………………………………….?
what is the best v6 or straight 6 motor for a 98 toyota supra and don’t say junk the 6 and get an v8 allot of 6 cylinders and beet v8s

A: well if your really good with engines id say go for the inline because they’re reliable and run smoother but if ur lookin for power with low maintenence get the V6. V8 is kinda overkill for a supra

Q: Toyota Supra?
anyone have this car??? if u do asnwer these….

Shud i keep it legit? or tuned…. i like it that its fast but silient…. its manual too shud i change the guage and everything???

TOO BAD TOYOTA SUPRA TWIN TURBO IS ILLEGAL IN THE U.S and not CANADA cuz of da smog thing…
theres people having twin turbo in U.S how much are they?? i have like a 100k budget or so

A: plenty of people have the toyota supra twin turbo in the u.s. if i had one i’d boost it up to over 1,000 rwhp

Q: toyota supra?
im looking to purchase a twin turbo supra mk 4 within the next 2 months, Im 21 years old and have been approved for 25k for a TT 2JZGTE model, I got a few questions for people out there that know about supras engines and how reliable they are. If I buy a supra TT MK4 with no more then 120k miles on it, how long would the engine last on it, I dont plan on racing it or dogging the mess out of it, I know toyota has had the best long lasting engines ever but im just asking and am really curious, I wanted to at least save up 10k to get the beast boosted and all within the next 2 years, I was planning on getting the non TT supra and then converting but upon doing further research I see that it actually cost more to convert rather then just getting the TT MK4 all at one time, again I will not be dogging out this car or redlining it either, I love the looks of it and also the rareness of it, Im wanting to have this vehicle for probably the next 10 years,
not only that but I was honestly thinking to myself I want a vehicle thats going to last me for a long time and also that will be my daily driver, so I want to get the supra now and not worry about what car I want in the near future at the moment, I have so much respect for this car I mean who doesnt, exterior and interior are like no other, even the almighty 2JZGTE TT POWER IS AMAZING, I will be looking to at least to get the vehicle up to no more then 650HP, but I would really like long accurate answers thanks guys
Report It

A: Rayson-

Lets have a little chat here about the vehicle you are getting ready to obtain.

The car that you want is indeed a very good vehicle. But if you are going to plan on doing work to it there are a few things you should know.

The engine is only going to be one small part of the project. If cost is not object, then you are going to have your work cut out for you.

Lets do a little Automotive 101 here OK?

First, the engine has 120K miles on it or close to it. This means it has been driven, and most likely driven pretty hard. So the engine is going to need some attention.

Lets open this discussion so you have an idea as to what you are really going to be into. The engine is more than likely going to need a rebuild soon. This is going to consist of machining the block, (boreing the cylinders and hoaning them properly.

The installation of new pistons, piston rings, bearings and connecting rods. If the crankshaft is undamaged and within specifications the journals will have to be polished and trued.

The cylinder head is going to need some attention too. This will include new intake and exhaust valves, camshafts, rockerarms and followers, (if equipped).

The Turbo Chargers are going to also need service to include new bearings, and waste gate valves.

So at this point we have just spent about $8500.00 in machine work and labor, and we have not yet gotten to assembly of the engine, or the other required parts. This is going to include all of the following.

Complete Engine Gasket and Seal Set
Spark Plugs
Distributor Cap
Distributor Rotor
Coolant
Thermostat
Water Hoses
Vacuum Hoses
Cylinder Head Bolts
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Oil
Oil Filter
Thermal Sensors
Thermal Switches

Now here is the additional work you are looking at.

Transmission Rebuild
Rear End Rebuild
Brakes
Wheel bearings
Suspension Parts
Tires

I want you to understand that I also build custom street rods, both Imports and Domestics.

The last vehicle I just finished was a 1990 Honda Prelude with a 2.5L DOHC Gray Market Import from Japan. This belongs to my brother. The engine was not an engine that was available here in the US. It was an engine that was only available in Japan in their SI models.

It started as a 175 Hp engine, which is pretty respectable for the car from the factory.

We had Spoon rebuild the engine for us because we could not obtain a new block or cylinder head. $6800.00 later we had a very nice Long Block to install in his car.

By the time we completed the project, the vehicle produced 294 horses, (dinoed) with no Turbo Charger or Nos.

But the cost of the entire project was to the tune of $23,000.00 because of the time and labor put into the car. If I had to calculate the billing hours that I could have charged my brother for the work I did, the total bill for that custom ride would be closer to the 50K mark!

If this is what you want to do, then by all means execute your dream car!!!!!!! But I cannot stress this enough. TAKE YOUR TIME! Do the job right and do it well. You will have something you can be proud of for many years to come.

Some of the other folks are going to rap me pretty hard about this, but keep in mind that you need to return as many parts to as close to new as you can get them. Especially if you are going to hop up that engine. If you don’t you will definately destroy some very expensive equipment on your car.

Good Luck with your project!

Q: what do you think of a dodge challenger r/t f?
good/bad, cheap/nice, fast/slow
just like your opinion of it? and what do you think of a girl driving it?
I’m turning 16, so it’s not a bad time, economically, yes. but it’s not just a random decision of time or whatever.
and i can already drive a stick..
and a new one.

A: I am a female and I just bought the 2009 Dodge Challenger (Hemi, of course) and I absolutely love it! I am the only owner of a black 2009 Challenger in my town so far and there is only one other person in my town that has one and his is orange, so my car gets a lot of attention! People ask me all the time what it is and tell me how nice it is! It is very fast! As far as gas mileage goes, it is quite shocking! I am averaging around 22-23 in the city and 24-25 on the interstate and I am not conservative in my driving habits. In other words, I like to start off fast. Unfortunately, in the city, you can start off fast but it doesn’t last long because it only takes 1 second and you are at 45 mph. I try to back off when I reach the speed limit. I had a male highway patrolman ask me the other day if I wanted to race him in his patrol car (a new Dodge Charger). I almost took him up on it! I will have to tell you that my payments are not cheap!!

Q: can i drive the dodge challenger super stock in daily driving in the city?

A: I seriously doubt it.

Q: Dodge Challenger 2008 In Britain?
I Would Like To Know If The 2008 Dodge Challenger Is Available In Britain and If So How Much?
Is It Available In Right Hand Drive?
Totally Agree With You Chuck M! Best Car Ever!

A: Go check out challengertalk.com. A few of the forum members have Challengers in Italy. If they can get ‘em in Italy you can get one in the U.K.

Q: How much is this 1972 dodge challenger worth?
340 4 speed, pistol grip shifter, vynil top, also with High performance cams, balanced crank…somethin like 450 hp pretty much mint. 70 000 miles

A: About 60-65% what it would be worth if it was still stock, pretty much mint with 70,000 miles, if numbers matching about 80-85% of it’s worth compared to original specs.

“. . . with High performance cams, . . .”, how many cams does it have?

Q: what do you think about the new 2008 dodge challenger concept car??
when is it coming out?

what about the price?

also why has the new camaro concept been in the news for years without it actualy coming out?

also why are all the muscle cars making a comeback all of the sudden? what brought all this about?

A: Challenger is coming out in early ‘08
ranging between $25,000 to $35,000

Camaro is supposed to come out in mid to late ‘08 as an ‘09.
same price range….who knows what engine it will get L76 is most likely but maybe LS3

Mustang started all the muscle car comeback in ‘05

And the answer to the title question…..
It looks good except for the huge side marker lights…
It is going to weigh too much, so it shouldn’t perform like the Camaro even with more power.
But we will only truly know when the cars come out.

Either way its going to be nice seeing them both kill the Mustang.

Q: Which is sexier, the new Camaro or the New dodge Challenger?
I have to choose between the two and I’m torn.

I want to pick the sexiest car.

Imagine which car your would rather see Meagan Fox step out of….I want that moment where a guy will just go DAMNNNNN.

help?

A: srt challerger my dad has one it now goes with our srt charger and srt ram. It is a blast to drive and it looks mean.

http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll267/dodgediesellover/SRTSallclean.jpg

Q: what year was the dodge challenger in the fast and the furious movie?

A: 1970 the car in the movie was a original 318 car but they said is was a 426 Hemi.

Q: How long will the 2009 Dodge Challenger?
Be in production?

A: until the production year changes on it then they,ll start building the 2010 models, they change dates on these depending on the amount of orders they get for them and the time it takes to retool for the newer models, good luck

Q: will the dodge challenger only be released for a couple of years and will there be an separate sms kit?
i just want to make sure because i dont want the challenger to turn into a mustang that every granny drives on the block. also im wondering if you could just get an sms kit some time in the near future because i’d rather just do it myself instead of paying at least an extra 10k for it

A: I don’t see Chrysler getting away from this car if they can turn a good profit off of it. The Dodge Charger has been a big hit for Chrysler and they are probably hoping that the Challenger will be an even bigger hit. With much lost overall profit due to poor truck sales, I would think that Chrysler would try and milk as much profit as they can from this car and I see this car being produced at least for a few more years, but I am no expert. Hope this helps.

Q: 2009 dodge challenger r/t, trying to install functional hood bezels?
i have a 2009 dodge challenger r/t, and i bought the functional hood bezels from a site online. needless to say it didnt come with any type of instructions… i just thought it would pop out and i could pop the new 1s in. does anyone know where i can get the directions? or have done this and could give me some pointers. thanks and 10pts to the best answer

A: id go back to the site where i purchased them from, if they sell the part, they should have on their site the down loadable instructions for doing this,i never did it on a newer challenger,it should have came with a complete instruction paper on how to change it out, good luck.

Q: does anyone know how many seats the dodge challenger and the chevy camaro have?
I need this info asap

A: Challenger seats 5. Camaro seats 4.

Q: Could the 2009 Dodge Challenger perform well in snow/ice even though it is a RWD car?
Without using snow tires or all season tires could the Challenger still perform well in snow/ice

A: Negative, just keep it in the garage and buy a winter beater.

Q: I am in need of Dodge Challenger seat parts……?
I am trying to find places that sell seat frames and rails for both the front and back seats for a 1970-74 Dodge Challenger. Does anyone know where I can find these parts?

A: I don’t know where you can buy the frames for the seats you need but the bucket seat frames were pretty much identical across the Chrysler lineup from 1970 to 1977 maybe until 1979, can’t remember when the high back seat ceased production. I remember seeing high back seats in a 1977 Cordoba S and a 1977 Charger. The mounting “rails” were probably pretty much the same as well, except for “6-way adjusters” (very rare) and electric seats in the upscale models.

The rear seats were common only to the Challenger/Cuda line, 1970-1974 as far as I know and was a bench style.

Q: dodge challenger performance parts help?
I just got a 2010 dodge challenger se its a v6 and i would like to know all the best things to do to it to make it faster im only 16 andits my first car so my parents wouldnt go for a v8

A: This is where you need to look for the information you need. /www.challengerforumz.com
You’ll be amazed how much information is there.

Q: where can I rent a dodge challenger for my wedding (in Winnipeg, MB)?
The more bells and wistles the better! I want to suprise my finacee with his dream car as our transportaion for the wedding, But I have no idea to where I can rent one! help!

A: don’t know if dollar rent a car in your area but all they rent is chrysler/dodge cars

Q: Pontiac GTO??????????????????????????????????
why did they stop making new pontiac gto’s????????? will they make any more?

A: Supposedly, because the Holden it was designed from didn’t meet more stringent American safety specs, and GM decided it wasn’t worth the extra cost of reworking the American version for a car that wasn’t selling well. Or that the Holden was being redesigned, and GM decided it wasn’t worth creating the left-hand drive version for America. That’s two of the versions of the story I’ve heard, and in either case, it all comes down to cost. GM wasn’t making enough on GTOs to have it be worth the money invested.

Originally it was that Holden was discontinuing the car that the GTO was based on, but I think now they were referring to a redesign that GM was unwilling to carry over to the American version.

Q: How many speakers are in a 2006 pontiac gto?
i would like to know how many speakers are in a 2006 pontiac gto, i cant seem to find it. some places say ten but does that include the tweeters? What size are the speakers?

A: 2 Front speakers- 6.5″
2 tweeters-3.5″
2 rear speakers- 6.5″
2 subwoofers-6.5″

Q: When did the first Pontiac GTO Judge roll out?
Pontiac suprised the world with the debut of the 1964 Pontiac GTO in September 1963. When did the first Pontiac GTO “Judge” roll out.

A: The Judge was introduced in 1969.

Q: Pontiac gto?
will the 2005 be worth more money with age

A: after 20 years or so it may go up in value in the mean time it will go down

Q: pontiac gto?
i wana get on i got a nice down pay ment bt…….. about how much do they cast? and to make sure it has a 6.0 rite

A: It is a fast car. it was discountinued due to slow sales because the styling was not edgy enough. New, it cost around $33000.

Q: What color was the inside of a 1965 Pontiac GTO?
I know Pontiac put an insulated pad on the inside of a 1965 GTO, but I am not sure if the sheet metal was painted black or the color of the car.

A: My Regimental Red ‘67 has a black dash pad and black painted sheetmetal. Of course, it also has the black interior (carpet, seats, door panels, etc.). My ‘64 – same thing.

I have a model of a ‘65 on my desk with a parchment interior with a black dash, if that helps!

Q: Need advice on tinting windows on black Pontiac GTO?
I want to tint my windows on my black Pontiac GTO. The state law here says I can go no darker than 30 percent. I don’t really know what that means. Will 30 percent look good on a black GTO or would it be a waste of money? Please help!

A: if u want the windows dark then 30% tint will be a waste of money because its too light. 30% will look good if u want a light tint on ur car. If u wanna get a dark tint then get at least 20% or lower. I have 20% on my black car and its dark but u can still see inside. In my state (Wisconsin) the limits are 50% on front and 35% on back and I’ve never been pulled over.

Q: What is your opinion about the Pontiac GTO?
Hey guys, just wondering your opinion about the new pontiac GTO’s.

I’m thinking of buying one but I have to decide between a GTO, a 350z, a VR4 or an LSE

So just gimme your opinion on the GTO

A: The performance of the new GTO’s is darn good. The interior is nice and comfortable. The #1 downfall of this car is the rear end looks like a cavalier and the front looks like a Grand Am. I work with a guy who had the 350HP model. The last year they sent them out with the 400HP. SLP has a huge offering of “Go Fast” parts to make this car run with the best.

Q: Can the ABS modulator on an ‘05 Pontiac GTO be bypassed?
I own a 2005 Pontiac GTO and just recently found out that it needs a new ABS modulator..The brakes currently do not work…But the new ABS modulator is $3,100..Can the ABS modulator be Bypassed?

A: go to the junk yard, better known as the auto recycler, ask for a cross reference for a recycled abs modulator…or, spring for the 31 hun-sorry, no way around it, can’t redo the brakes due to limitations by the feds…get used to it, or buy an older car…

Q: What’s a good turbocharger for a 2006 Pontiac GTO?
I was looking for a good turbocharger for a pontiac GTO 2006 V8 6.0L LS2 engine. If someone could refer me to a dealer, I live in the bay area, or a website that be great. Also could I fit turbo’s on there?
* I mean can I fit twin turbo’s on there?

A: STS offers great systems. They are rear mounted systems that work very well for a street car, and race car alike. Here is their website: http://ststurbo.com/

Have fun.

Q: why did pontiac only remake the gto for 3 years?
the pontiac gto is the best muscle car there is. was it just not popular? were sales just low?

A: because it sucked.

Q: what’s the difference between the pontiac gto & pontiac firebird (or pony car & muscle car)?
im looking to buy a used car and im trying to figure out what is the difference between the two and why they are seperated into two differnt car classes. Im looking to buy a used no older than 1998 and its between a chevrolet camaro, ford mustang, pontiac firebird, or pontiac gto. thanks in advance.

A: A pony car is smaller than a muscle car. A muscle car is a mid size, 2 door family car with a big block V8 in it. Like the GTO was a LeMans with a high output 400 V8. And most muscle cars had bucket seats, consoles, gauge package and 4 speed sticks.

A pony car has a smaller wheelbase and is shorter in overall length. It came in two versions, the mom & pop with a 6 cylinder or a small block V8. And the muscle version with a high output big block V8. Pony cars were never thought of as a family car, which muscle cars were based on. There were always considered to be a sporty car, although not quite a sports car since they had a back seat.

Q: Making a 1969 Pontiac GTO sound like a drag race car?
Hello, I just bought a 1969 Pontiac GTO. I want it to sound like the 69′ GTO’s on the drag race tracks. I’m deffinetly going to super a supercharger on it for sure. I dont know that much about cars so I would like you guys to tell me what I should get for the car. Like what exhaust system to get, mid pipes, mufflers all that stuff, pipe size. I’d like the size, type, and brand.

A: Sounds like you’re sold on supercharging. I would probably go with the turbo because of raw performance, but the supercharger is closer to the GTO’s character. That will lend a sound of its own (whining), but as far as exhaust, larger diameter is better. Not only will it give better performance, but it will sound so much nicer. My default first recommendation for any exhaust application is Borla, but, unfortunately, Borla doesn’t make any exhaust kits for your car. Try a Magnaflow instead. Product #15898 is designed to fit your car and costs about $850. It has everything back of the headers. I saw a video on Youtube of a ‘69 GTO with Edelbrock heads, Hooker SuperComp headers, and open DM cut-outs (electric valve to adjust exhaust flow and sound). The link is in the sources section. It doesn’t say if it has any other modifications, but it sounds absolutely sick. I think it has a larger engine than your’s (461 cubes vs 403 cubes stock). You could definitely toss something on for a more aggressive sound, too.
Whatever you decide, enjoy it!

Q: Do you have a Pontiac GTO or have an interest in them?
and if you do what year and color is it and if it has a paint job discribe it. I have a 2006 Pontiac GTO and I’ve had it up to 162mph. Mine has the factory motor in it( the LS2 corvette motor with 400hp), but no super-charger.So if yours has any bells and whistles on it that are non-factory please tell me what they are and how you like it. In other words ,was it worth putting on your GTO?

A: Sounds wicked fast, find more about them in groups,

Q: Need advice on window tint for black Pontiac GTO?
I want to tint my windows on my black Pontiac GTO. The state law here says I can go no darker than 30 percent. I don’t really know what that means. Will 30 percent look good on a black GTO or would it be a waste of money? Please help!

A: I run 15% on my ‘06 GTO and 20% on my ‘04. I haven’t received any attention from law enforcement for my tint. If you are curious to what different levels look like on different cars check out the appearance section of ls1gto.com

And as far as measuring tint, 100% would be having no tint, where as 0% be black. The percentage is measuring the amount of light that then tint will allow to transfer through it.
